Use AI is designed for individuals using AI for real work. Our plans provide substantial access to leading AI models, but usage is subject to reasonable limits so we can keep the service fast, reliable, and economically sustainable for everyone.
Usage is not measured only by the number of messages you send.
Different requests can consume very different amounts of computing resources depending on factors such as:
Because of this, two users sending the same number of messages may consume different amounts of usage.
Your plan determines the overall level of usage available to your account. Pro and Max plans are designed for progressively heavier individual usage.
Where available, we may show an approximate number of messages or usage indicators to help you understand what typical usage may look like. These figures are estimates rather than guaranteed message quotas because actual consumption varies by model and request complexity.
Temporary limits may apply when an account reaches the reasonable usage level associated with its plan.
For example, this could happen when a user:
If a usage limit is reached, Use AI will notify you in the product.
Limits normally reset automatically after the applicable usage period. No action is required from you.
We may adjust usage thresholds over time as models, infrastructure costs, and product capabilities change.
A Pro subscriber using Use AI throughout the working day for writing, research, analysis, coding, and other personal productivity tasks would normally fall within intended usage.
A user repeatedly running long research requests, very large contexts, file analysis, or expensive models throughout the day may reach a usage limit sooner even if they send fewer messages.
Using scripts to continuously send requests, sharing one subscription across a team, reselling Use AI access, or using a personal account as infrastructure for another product is not considered normal individual usage.
Your access may also be temporarily limited or suspended if we detect misuse, including:
If your account reaches a usage limit, you'll see a notification in Use AI explaining that your access has been temporarily limited.
Your usage allowance will reset automatically according to the applicable usage window, after which you can continue using Use AI normally.
We are also working toward providing clearer in-product visibility into usage so that users can better understand their consumption before reaching a limit.
Our goal is to provide generous access for normal individual use while preventing a very small number of accounts from consuming disproportionate resources or using individual subscriptions for automated or commercial infrastructure.
Fair usage limits allow us to offer powerful AI models at predictable subscription prices while maintaining reliable service for everyone.
